Who am I?

I was born in Omaha, NE but I currently live in Lincoln, NE. From an early age I have had a passion for music. It began with in 5th Grade when I started in the schools band program and learned the trumpet. This is when the audio bug bit me. From there I learned more brass instruments as well as guitar, drums, bass, and piano all throughout High School. At the same time I began writing and producing music with my friends. After High School I decided to give my passion a try by going to college for Music Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. There I found out about the art of Audio Engineering and I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life. Although I noticed that there had to be a better way to get there rather than spending thousands of dollars to go to a traditional 4 year college. So I did some research and stumbled upon the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences (CRAS).

CRAS isn’t like your traditional college experience. It is a 36 Week Course with a 280 Hour Internship at the end. That meant not only did you get an accelerated program but they helped me get your foot in the door in this industry. But, in order to graduate you must have a certain level of dedication and self control in order to make it to the internship, and the internship is the hardest part. But graduating from CRAS, you become part of a large family of thousands of graduates who are some of the best engineers in the industry.

For my internship I worked for a company called Post Haus. They are a Post Production mixing, recording, and sound design studio in Kansas City, MO. There I was able to put all of my knowledge that I had gained from school to work and get more hands on experience. Their work mainly comprises of commercials, with the occasional short film or documentary. This was the perfect way to improve my ability to produce great sounding work but on a tight timeline.
